The National - Sorrow - High Violet (2013)
Epic.
I find joy in music. I relish in sharing that joy. So, mostly music. Plus, whatever I'm into at the time.

The Geese Of Beverly RoadThe National - The Geese Of Beverly Road - Alligator (2005)
“…We’re the heirs to the glimmering world…”
Going about my business, tunes on random and that line of lyric caused me to stop in my tracks.
Love the sound of that…the image it evokes.
Full lyrics.
Green GlovesThe National - Green Gloves - Boxer (2007)
It’s amazing. One song (actually Matt Berninger’s baritone vocals) and I’m hooked. Spotify on random, second tune comes on… Result, The National for the rest of the eve…

What makes you think I’m enjoying being led to the flood?

Performance from Late Night with David Letterman on 2/1/11.
Lovely.
So Far Around The BendThe National - So Far Around The Bend - Dark Was The Night (2009)
All about The National today.
The National - About Today (live at Haldern Pop Festival).
Tough to express how much I love this. The subtlety of the opening, Matt’s baritone voice juxtaposed against the treble of Aaron’s guitar (or is that Bryce? :), the crescendo, “feeling” the music, Matt walking around the stage as if entranced by the instrumentation/tune, the audience mesmerized…… Pure joy in this. The National + La Blogotheque/Vincent Moon = Magic.
i doubt anyone can view this without a slow-spread grin. so beautiful.
the national - START A WAR (TAKE AWAY SHOW #40)
One of my favorite Take Away Shows. No one shoots the national better than Vincent Moon. Everything they’ve done together is absolute beauty. This is no exception.

This video is why I love The National. Terrible Love (alternate version) - directed by Matt Berninger. First time I saw them was 5 or 6 years ago in Portland, Oregon - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah opened…Maybe 30 people in the audience. I was instantly hooked. I’ve seen them live 10 times since. They never disappoint and they continue to out do themselves (with their albums and live). A must see show if you ever get the chance. One of my all time favorite bands.
Perfect SongThe National - Perfect Song - The National (2001)
Listening to old school The National. Matt Berninger’s voice never gets old.
