Echo Lake - Swimmers - Wild Peace (2012)

Really digging Echo Lake’s debut album Wild Peace.

Echo Lake is a South London band led by guitarist Thom Hill and singer Linda Jarvis. To me, their sound bears likeness to Beach House, My Bloody Valentine and Au Revoir Simone. It’s dream-pop/shoegaze with reverb, heavenly vocals, complementary guitars, sometimes droning organs and perfectly accompanying keyboards.

Sometimes light and airy. Sometimes melodic and anthemic. Sometimes a cacophony of fantastic sound. All the time a wonderful listen.

Debut dropped on June 26th, 2012. Sadly drummer Pete Hayes (who completed the quintet) passed on June 21st — just prior to the release. RIP Pete and condolences to his family, friends and bandmates.

Wild Peace is a brilliant listen and a tribute. One I highly recommend. Buy the album here.
